Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Protein Engineer with expertise in Enzyme Design and Directed Evolution Techniques to join our dynamic team. The selected candidate will play a key role in our research and development efforts, contributing to the discovery and development of novel technologies in proteomics and metabolomics. As a Scientist you will be responsible for the (re-)design and engineering of enzymes, production and screening of enzyme variants and libraries. The role will involve designing and executing directed evolution campaigns, among other enzyme engineering strategies, and chemical modification of proteins to achieve these objectives. Additionally, the Scientist will be encouraged to identify and explore alternative enzymatic or chemical routes for our technology.
Responsibilities:
- Design and conduct experiments utilizing directed evolution and related techniques to investigate and improve the physicochemical properties and the activity of enzymes.
- Chemical and enzymatical modification of proteins.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, and present findings to internal teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project goals and milestones.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of experimental protocols and methodologies.
- Stay abreast of advancements in enzyme engineering and related fields, and integrate new technologies and techniques into research efforts.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. or equivalent experience in biochemistry, or related field.
- Strong background in enzyme engineering. Hands-on experience in biochemistry and enzyme design techniques is essential.
- Proficiency in data analysis, with experience using software for protein structure analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
- Track record of independent research, demonstrated through publications, presentations, or other means.
- Highly motivated, with a passion for scientific discovery and innovation.
