About the role:

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Technician with a background in molecular biology or biochemistry techniques to join our dynamic team. The selected candidate will play a key role in our research and development efforts, contributing to the discovery and development of novel technologies in proteomics and metabolomics. As a technician you will be responsible for conducting protein expression in E. coli, protein purification using different strategies, and molecular cloning. As part of our dynamic research team, you will contribute to the development of multiple projects, gaining hands-on experience in cutting-edge techniques while working in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform heterologous protein expression in Escherichia coli using various expression systems.
• Purify proteins using different techniques such as affinity chromatography (His-tag, GST-tag, etc.), ion exchange, size exclusion chromatography (SEC), and other methods.
• Carry out molecular cloning, including PCR, restriction digestion, ligation, and transformation.
• Analyse protein samples using SDS-PAGE, and spectrophotometric assays.
• Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP and good laboratory practices (GLP).
• Assist in troubleshooting and optimizing expression and purification protocols.
• Support lab organization, including reagent preparation, equipment maintenance, and inventory management.
• Collaborate with researchers, sharing findings and contributing to project discussions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience in protein expression and purification.
• Experience with FPLC (ÄKTA system) or other automated purification systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with molecular biology techniques, especially cloning, PCR, and plasmid preparation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow standard protocols and maintain accurate documentation.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
